SMART Notebook 8.1InstructionsCompound WordsThis activity can be used with the whole class with the children working in pairs or small groups with a small white board. The first activity contains words taken from year 2 section of the year 2/3 spelling document and the second activity uses words from the year 3 section. Both activities can be completed in the same way and do require the children to have some knowledge of compound words.The children can be challenged in pairs or small groups to make as many compound words as they can using the words on the grid and record them onto their small boards. Each word can only be used once and there will be at least one word left over.As each of the words can be moved the results can be recorded and the words rearranged as many times as necessary.
